After spending some time on her own, Annabeth eventually came across two other demigods a fourteen year old son of Hermes named Luke Castellan (whom Annabeth developed a crush on) and a twelve year old daughter of Zeus named Thalia Grace who had also left their homes. Later that same year, Annabeth ran away from home, believing her family hated her because monsters kept attacking them (due to Annabeth being a demigod as they let off a scent that causes monsters to track them down). Two years later, Annabeth (now seven) and Fredrick visited her uncle Randolph's mansion in Boston for Thanksgiving, where Annabeth played with her cousin Magnus whilst Fredrick argued with Randolph and their sister and Magnus's mother Natalie, causing a rift in the family and caused Annabeth to not see Magnus, Randolph or Natalie again. Fredrick attempted to have Athena raise Annabeth in Olympus instead, but Athena refused and told Fredrick that demigods must be raised by their mortal parent.įive years later, Annabeth gained a stepmother and half-brothers when Fredrick married a mortal women and had two sons with her named Matthew and Bobby. Athena then sent Annabeth to Frederick via The West Wind Zephyros. Due to Athena being a virgin goddess, Annabeth was born from her thoughts, making her a "brainchild". However, the relationship did not lost long as Athena had to return to Olympus.
